CamX and Ravin crossbows online shopping with Hunting Giant? Like all other Ravin Crossbows, the R20 is engineered by Helicoil technologies. It has all the features- optimized balance and lightweight build and the cast polymer in the build makes it durable. The key advantage of the Ravin R20 crossbow is the speed and power. The 34.5 inch in size and 6.8 pounds in weight of the Ravin R20 have a frictionless flight system, making it feel like a gun while shooting. It also has a velocity similar to a rifle which generates kinetic energy of 164 feet-pounds and can shoot at a 430 FPS speed. With cams perfectly balanced, Ravin R20 shoots with complete accuracy up to a range of 100 yards. The silent cocking system means the user can cock and uncock the Crossbow without a single drop of sound. This cocking mechanism is also fully integrated and works smoother than normal mechanisms. Including the quiver and the scope, the R20 weighs 8.8 pounds more than usual, but even then it is among the lightest crossbows in the market. Ravin R20 crossbow package has the signature trac-triggers system which is ant-dry-fire and bilateral positioning.

The MX is the other exception to the slower-speed trend. It comes in two versions, the 5-inch-brace-height ultrafast (360 IBO) MX-15 and the 6-inch very fast (352 IBO) MX-16. Both feature the Hybrid Duel Stop (HDS) cam, which allows shooters to select limb stop, cable stop, or combination of both to adapt to their own shooting style. Draw length is adjustable in ½-inch increments without a bow press. I knew this would be the fastest bow on the ATA ranges this year, and being (a) old and (b) not usually a fan of speed bows, I was a tad nervous. My angst only grew when the tech informed me they only had a 70-pound model for me to shoot. But I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did I shoot the MX-15, repeatedly, but I shot it pretty darn well. The draw cycle puts most of the load up front, so the job gets easier as you go. The MX-16 is a bit easier to draw and still one of the fastest bows of the year.

Hoyt deviated a bit from the standard “here’s a new flagship bow” model by unveiling six bow models arranged in three categories: Alpha, Ultra, and Turbo. The Alpha line is directed at whitetail hunters and features short, nimble versions of two new models: the carbon Redwrx RX-4 Alpha and the aluminum Axius Alpha. The Ultra line was built with Western hunters in mind and features the RX-4 and Axius in Ultra configurations with longer axle-to-axle lengths and brace heights. The Turbo models, as one would expect, are speed setups. The RX-4 Turbo and the aluminum Helix Turbo (the Axius is not available in a Turbo setup) have advertised speeds of 350 fps. All the models are available in an impressive array of finishes including the uber-popular camo patterns such as Kuiu Verde 2.0, Gore Optifade Subalpine and Elevated II and Under Armour Forest.

Like a few other bows in the list, the Revolt line offers two options for axle-to-axle length. But the big features remain the same. Bowtech releases its Deadlock Cam System with this bow. Using this system, you can move the cams left or right on the axle to position the energy right behind the arrow. Then, you simply lock it in with a screwdriver for permanent accuracy. Options for weight are more limited than most of the other bows with a range of 50-70 pounds. Arrows fly at a max speed of 335 fps. A 26- to 31-inch draw length should fit a lot of adults, and a max weight of 4.4 pounds fits well into the lighter bows on the market this year.

Killer Instinct’s 2020 offering is the SWAT XP and, like previous bow from Killer Instinct, it’s a new take on crossbow technology. This time, Killer Instinct focused on the very real issue of problematic broadhead flight. With crossbows delivering greater speeds than in years past, getting perfect broadhead flight from an array of broadheads can be a challenge. The SWAT XP looks to change that trend with its new Accutac Barrel System. Instead of a standard rail for the arrow to ride along, the barrel completely encircles the arrow. Killer Instinct says this reduces arrow oscillation, which in turn leads to improved accuracy and consistency from a range of broadheads. The SWAT XP has advertised speeds of 415 fps and is listed at $1,000.
