Solutions for the crime wave in New York with Sean Hayes

Crime wave in New York with Sean Hayes, candidate, NYC Council District 1? Auto thefts, which have been on the upswing for months, continues to remain a problem, with 666 stolen vehicles reported in March 2021. That’s a 35.% jump from the 493 incidents recorded at the same time a year ago. Just two of the seven major crime categories decreased in March 2021: robberies, which were down 11.8% year-over-year; and burglaries, which dropped 8.5%. Meanwhile, crime in the city’s transit system was also down 32.6% year-over-year, with 118 incidents reported — a decrease from the 175 tallied in March 2020. The 99 shootings in March 2021 also represented a significant uptick in gun violence compared to February 2021, when 77 shootings were recorded. There were also 77 shootings during January of this year.

New York is experiencing the worst gun violence it has seen in nearly a decade, all while it continues to fight a pandemic that has killed tens of thousands of New Yorkers and left many more jobless and hungry. In 2021 alone, 299 people have been shot, a 54% increase over the same time last year, and the most the city has seen since 2012. Ninety-two people have been murdered, a 19.5% jump, according to the most recent NYPD data. In 2020, the city recorded 462 murders, an increase of 45% from 2019, even as most other major felonies declined. Shooting incidents overall exploded 97% last year. New York is not unique. Murders across the United States rose an estimated 25% in 2020, according to preliminary data from the FBI, the largest increase since modern crime statistics have been compiled. Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles all had higher murder rates than New York City in 2020.

Election of Brooklyn’s District Attorney Eric Gonzales and other pro-reactionary radical criminal-justice reform movement prosecutors led to the decriminalization of many crimes, the emboldening of criminals and the acquiescing to bail, by prosecutors, in all but the most exceptional of cases. This led to an increase of dangerous suspects and convicts on our streets. In 2017, de Blasio backed the NY City Council’s legislative package called the Right to Know. This legislation mandated the police, among other things, to inform a suspect of their right to refuse a search, thus, decreasing drug and weapon busts. Read additional information on New York crime wave solutions.

We can understand that from the closure of business because of pandemic restrictions we shall see a decrease in armed robberies, since many stores, banks and other businesses with cash were not open. However, the rise in homicides and shootings has no logical connection to the change in situations. What is the argument? Maybe we can understand an increase based on the increase in drug use during the pandemic, but the doubling of shootings is not something that can be just explained away – without argument.

Sean Hayes a 47-year old NY Attorney; Head of an International Law Firm; former lawyer working in China, Korea & Southeast Asia; former Professor, CEO, Dean of a UN University and Journalist fears that our City shall turn to the Dark Days of the 80s and early 90s, because of reactionary and radicalized politics in New York and the lack of experience, pragmatism, and problem-solving skills of our politicians. Sean is running in the Democratic Primary for City Council in District 1. We need experienced and pragmatic leadership in our City Council and not those unwilling or unable to face the problems of our City. We hear too much rhetoric and not enough solutions. Sean is the, only, candidate in District 1 with comprehensive solutions to the problems facing New York City. Discover even more info at https://www.seanhayes4nyc.com/.

Talk advantages and online chat in 2021

Free chat now or discussion satisfactions today During COVID era talking with someone can help your mood a lot. Be inspirational. While this may feel like a tall order, it is critical for engagement and motivation. Reinforce your mission and the direction of your organization. Let people know where you’re going and that you will get there together. You may not know exactly what the journey holds, but people want to know you’ll come out on the other side. Let people know you’re committed to finding creative solutions, leveraging new approaches and surviving together for a tomorrow that will return to normal someday. Of course, you must be honest—this should go without saying—and this isn’t about sugar-coating. Things may be tough in the short term and it’s important to acknowledge this (see “be understanding and be empathetic” above), but also focus on the future to ensure people stay engaged.

For many teens, texting is the dominant way that they communicate on a day-to-day basis with their friends. Some 88% of teens text their friends at least occasionally, and fully 55% do so daily. Along with texting, teens are incorporating a number of other devices, communication platforms and online venues into their interactions with friends.

In February 2004, a reporter asked one author (Wellman) to comment on the deaths of four supposed “cyber-addicts” who spent much time online in virtual reality environments. The reporter lost interest when Wellman pointed out that other causes might be involved, that “addicts” were a low percentage of users, and that no one worries about “neighboring addicts” who chat daily in their front yards. A more pervasive concern has been that the internet sucks people away from in-person contact, fostering alienation and real-world disconnection. See extra info at kids chat.

Although the benefits of face-to-face communication are numerous, there would still be some disadvantages to be addressed. For example, it can be tricky to actually find the time to meet people. Emailing and texting are faster especially if the other person you want to communicate with is in another country. Moreover, some people find it hard to communicate chat. Also, getting the same message across to different people may be hard with chat communication. However, these few disadvantages can be overcome by setting a video conference through a platform like TalkWithStranger.

A key aspect of our argument is that some of the benefits of online interaction may accrue particularly to people with stigmatizing conditions, whose need for a sense of community may be harder to meet in the course of normal, day-to-day offline interactions (Goffman, 1963). A stigmatizing condition is one that subjects its carrier to social devaluation (Crocker, Major, & Steele, 1998), and stigma is a psychological stressor for precisely this reason (Allison, 1998, Heckman et al., 2002, Varni et al., 2012). Although social stigmas may be differentiated along a variety of dimensions (e.g., visibility), our goal in this work is not to draw fine distinctions between different types of stigmas. Instead, we cast a wide net by considering the core defining element of devaluation that links the experience of people who have a variety of different types of stigmatizing conditions. Saying that social skills and communication skills are important is an understatement. If you want to achieve much, both in your professional and personal life, you need to know how to communicate and interact with other people. Many successful people will tell you that much of their success can be attributed to their excellent people skills. Your social skills are just like any other skill – they get better the more you practice, and you get rusty the longer you go without practicing them. Talking to strangers on a daily basis provides you with the perfect opportunity to practice and improve this important skill. As you talk to people you have never talked to before, the more you learn how to make small talk, how to start conversations, how to break away from conversations, and how to generally have engaging and meaningful interactions with other people.

US elections news with George Ajjan

The election year of 2020 is uncharted territory for presidential conventions. Usually, the conventions of the Democrats and Republicans are the pillars of the campaign, in which the candidates unveil their main programs to citizens, many of whom do not follow politics closely. Also the running mates are introduced, changing the identity of the race. And the conventions give a chance for activists to unify after divisive primaries. According to political strategist George Ajjan, “Trump’s cancelling of the GOP convention is a setback, as it would have shown a stark contrast with Biden: boldness versus cowardice. At the same time, the subdued, compassionate tone with which he announced his decision to cancel in light of COVID-19 pressures comes from a playbook he should consult more often.”

Republican donors are none too happy about the change. Nearly $40 million was raised by the party’s host committee – an elite set of donors keen to hobnob with key political figures in the party at the convention itself – has been mostly spent. That was because the convention was initially scheduled to take place in Charlotte, North Carolina.

But Trump took the decision to move the convention to Jacksonville, Florida because he felt that North Carolina was demanding too many social distancing restrictions. Trump wanted a convention that looked like a normal one, so that he could show the American people a resilient approach facing the pandemic.

When he moved to festivities to Jacksonville, Florida seemed like a much better choice: a friendly Governor and a state that was untouched by the pandemic. That changed rather quickly over the past month. GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted that the president’s “number one priority in this decision was the safety of the people of Jacksonville, the convention attendees, and all of the American people.”

Another host committee in that city raised another $6 million, most of which seem not to have been spent. Those donors will be keen to see their money spent on specific projects, as big money contributors typically like to earmark their funds for particular political purposes. Hundreds of delegates to the convention may also be irritated at having to alter travel plans, and potentially lose money on bookings already made for the trip.

The debacle of Trump’s Tulsa, Oklahoma rally weighs heavily on his mind, as well as those of his team. The crowd in Tulsa was small but nonetheless seemed to contribute to spreading the novel coronavirus. This further undermined his standing in the eyes of the American people. Current polls show Trump trailing Biden by 12 points, and even more when it comes to who can best manage the pandemic.

After all, this year’s conventions will not be as determining a factor as they had been in previous election cycles. Neither candidate will benefit from the traditional “convention bounce” in polling. It’s more likely that the debates will gain more importance as the American people choose between Trump and Biden in the lead-up to November.

Gamification is a great way to get people’s competitive spirit revved up but the consent to share scores or progress should be left entirely up to the employee. While adding games, scores and trackers can do well to attract non-participants, more introverted employees may not be keen to publicly declare their volunteering status, no matter how invested they may be in the cause. If the volunteering platform must be public, avatars are a good ways to keep the fun going while allowing individuals to choose the level of anonymity/publicity they are comfortable with.

A secular, non-affiliated charity, Willing Hearts is largely run by volunteers. It operates a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes about 5,000 daily meals to over 40 locations island wide, 365 days a year. How You Can Help: You can go in and help prepare ingredients for the soup kitchen (chopping vegetables, and other kitchen tasks), packing lunch boxes, cleaning and washing up (much needed). Willing Hearts usually encourages families with kids to volunteer as a unit with open arms, but as per MOH guidelines, they advise against vulnerable groups such as seniors, children, persons with chronic or underlying conditions, and pregnant women to volunteer at the moment due to the pandemic. Discussion benefits and online chat

Talk satisfactions and kids chat and do you want a reason to talk to someone you don’t know ? Heavy internet users report feeling more isolated from society and report fewer interactions with family and friends (Nie and Hillygus, 2002, Nie et al., 2002). Time spent online has been shown to be associated with increased depression and other emotional problems (Carden and Rettew, 2006, Morgan and Cotton, 2003) and impaired academic performance (Junco, 2012). Using the internet to meet people is also associated with depression (Boneva, Quinn, Kraut, Kiesler, & Shklovski, 2006).

While strangers present opportunities for you to make new friends, you obviously won’t hit it off with every new person you talk to. However, you don’t know where the conversation might lead. Even if you don’t end up making a connection with the person, they might introduce you to someone else who ends up becoming a good friend. For instance, let’s assume that, after striking up a conversation with the lady from the office next door, you find out that you don’t really have much in common. However, as you talk about your likes and interests, she mentions that she has a friend who has a passion for the same things as you. She can introduce you to her friend, who can then end up becoming a great friend. Alternatively, the lady might invite you to a party where you end up meeting more new people and becoming friends with some of them.

Research points to the positive social networking effects of connectivity. As these questions continue to be debated, research is showing that the internet is not destroying relationships or causing people to be anti-social.4 To the contrary, the internet is enabling people to maintain existing ties, often to strengthen them, and at times to forge new ties. The time that most people spend online reduces the time they spend on the relatively unsocial activities of watching TV and sleeping. See extra details at chatblink.

According to research, more than 90% of human communication consists of body language. When you see the way that the person you are talking to reacts, you are able to better understand how they are feeling. One of the benefits of chat communication is the live feedback translated through the body language and facial expressions. Other forms of communication can never provide the advantage. You can also hear the tone of voice which makes it easier to interpret the person’s feelings. On the other hand, you are able to show your own reactions and emotions. For example, as a manager, with chat communication you can show your employees that you care, pushing them to perform better.

For American teens, making friends isn’t just confined to the school yard, playing field or neighborhood – many are making new friends online. Fully 57% of teens ages 13 to 17 have made a new friend online, with 29% of teens indicating that they have made more than five new friends in online venues. Most of these friendships stay in the digital space; only 20% of all teens have met an online friend in person. Discover extra info at flirt for free.

Similarly, when the “Homenet” study in Pittsburgh found that internet newcomers were somewhat more stressed, it was front-page news. The media paid much less attention to the follow-up report that found much of the stress does not continue as people become used to the internet. The assumption underlying fear about what the internet is doing to relationships is that the internet seduces people into spending time online at the expense of time spent with friends and family. As a result, Americans may be sitting at their computer screens at home and not going out to talk to our neighbors across the street or visiting relatives. There are worries that relationships that exist in text – or even screen-to-screen on flickering webcams – are less satisfying than those in which people can really see, hear, smell, and touch each other.

Another benefit of chat communication is that it helps in expanding your network and enhancing future communication. It provides a feel of friendliness which, in turn, boosts the success of your relationships, whether they are personal or business relationships. Using emails or phones wouldn’t give you the opportunity to build camaraderie. chat communication is great form of persuasion, engagement, and leadership. Even if you don’t have time to actually meet in person, using platforms for enterprise video conferencing and web conferencing such as ezTalks Meetings, would provide you with the benefits of chat communication by energizing a positive climate and a bond between you and the other people.

An influential set of studies provides perhaps the most definitive tests of these ideas (Kraut et al., 1998). Kraut and colleagues recruited families who did not have Internet access in homes at the beginning; gave each a personal computer, internet, and e-mail; and tracked them over two years to assess the impact of internet use on their social involvement, social support, and psychological well-being. Far from improving users’ well-being, the evidence gathered in this study suggested that stress, depression, and loneliness seemed to be worsened by internet use. This paper calling the benefits of online interaction into question generated significant media and scholarly attention. Discover extra details at free online chat.
