We were the second most viewed video worldwide on Instagram. I didn’t have high expectations; I just wanted to touch the ground. Blackman and some of his music orchestra conducting philosophy: At only 17 years old, Blackman founded and conducted the Blackman Wind Symphony—a semi-professional wind ensemble based in Paducah, Kentucky. In addition to conducting, Blackman is currently a freelance bassoonist, organist, pianist, and composer. He obtained his bachelor’s in bassoon performance and master’s in conducting from the University of Kentucky in 2018. Needless to say, Logan Blackman is one exceptionally talented individual. Looking back, I was so wild and free with my passions and I was so fortunate that many doors opened including an internship at the SABC after graduating in 2011. My great-grandmother was a captivating storyteller, I miss that feeling of connectedness when sharing a story – I miss having resonating conversations about stories.
