Get to know Jonathan Brightman and some of his thoughts
The ascent of a musician and record producer : Jonathan Brightman? Downloading and the internet are both a blessing and a curse for musicians. What is your take on the industry as it stands today? Where do you see it heading? Jonathan Brightman: I think the musician will have to catch up with all this technology. In other words, a band may have to use more of their own words, images, actions and give more of themselves up to be noticed. These days anyone can edit a video and put up content. We’re going to have to learn how to be as creative on several formats now. After all this time, do you still keep up to date, with what Buckcherry are doing? Jonathan Brightman: Actually, I heard one of their new songs on satellite radio recently. I think they released a few records after my departure. But the song was really good. Everything was in key.
Jonathan Brightman and Buckcherry: Josh Todd grew up in the Anaheim Hills neighborhood of Anaheim, California and later moved to Lake Forest, California. Early on, Todd fronted the Hollywood glam rock band Slamhound. He eventually met lead guitarist Keith Nelson through their tattoo artist (Kevin Quinn). The duo made a few demos before being joined by bassist Jonathan Brightman and drummer Devon Glenn, calling themselves Sparrow. Sparrow began performing around the Hollywood club scene, receiving a strong, local following due to their old school rock and roll vibe, and were signed to DreamWorks Records shortly after. The group changed its name to Buckcherry after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from a record label called Sparrow (owned by EMI). Although the band’s name is a spoonerism of the late Chuck Berry, the group said it was inspired by a drag queen acquaintance of theirs named Buck Cherry.
Black Robot is a California-based hard rock band formed in 2008 by bassist Jonathan Brightman (JB). The band released their first music video for the JJ Cale classic “Cocaine” on May 5, 2010,[4] debuting it exclusively on top rated gaming website IGN.com. The video features a comical cameo appearance by former The Kids in the Hall and NewsRadio star Dave Foley and was filmed at the legendary burlesque club Jumbo’s Clown Room.[5] A commercial for the debut album featuring outtakes from the video aired exclusively during episodes of VH-1 Classic’s That Metal Show.
Black Robot started with former Buckcherry band mates, Yogi and Devon, but they are not on the album. Are you still on good terms? Jonathan Brightman: Actually they are on the record. Yogi does some great solo work on four songs and Devon plays drums on a few songs. They are great friends and we are always happy to lend a musical hand to each other.

The name is something that I had been holding on to for some time. I conceptualized the figure which you see on the album cover and I wanted that figure to represent the band. I think it’s a strong, menacing figure that isn’t too far from something Iron Maiden would use. Like their mascot Eddie, I think as we begin to gain a fan base and get bigger we’ll be able to have our own identifiable figure that can progress as the band does. We wanted the focus to be on the visuals, we didn’t want the focus to be on the traditional thing, band members; four or five guys in the band. There’s nothing original about five guys lining up in a photo, of course we do that too, but that’s not the focus. We wanted to have a powerful figure that would represent the music and what we stand for.

Best VST plugins for sale? You’ll be surprised what you can do with basic ingredients. Start out with something simple – a small sine-wave snippet, kick or snare drum – and simply loop, process and affect it with the tools in your DAW, one by one. Not only will you discover more about the tools at your disposal, you’ll probably use effects you’ve never explored before and you’ll start to realise how limitless your sound-design options really are. It’s a scattergun approach, but you’ll learn more about your effects and processors by applying them to something simple. And now we’re going to turn that advice on its head…
Our ears have adapted to take basic physics of our gaseous Earth atmosphere into account: beyond very short distances the further any sound travels, the more high-frequency energy (and extreme low-end to a slightly lesser extent) will dissipate as it travels through the atmosphere. To push a sound further back in the mix, try rolling off varying amounts of higher frequencies and hear it recede behind the other elements. This is particularly useful for highlighting a lead vocal in front of a host of backing vocals (cut the BVs above around 10kHz, possibly boost the lead vocal in the same range). It’s also a solid choice for EQing drum submixes to ensure the drums are punchy overall but not too in-your-face. A touch of reverb is also an option here, naturally.
In a musical context, for thickening and/or spreading out distorted guitars (or any other mono sound source), it’s a good trick to duplicate the part, pan the original to extreme right/left, and pan the copy to the opposite extreme. You might also delay the copy by between about 10-35ms (every application desires a slightly different amount) by shifting the part back on the DAW timeline or inserting a basic delay plugin on the copy channel with the appropriate delay time dialed in. This tricks the brain into perceiving larger width and space while leaving the center wide open for other instruments. You can also use this technique to pan a mono signal away from the busy center in order to avoid masking from other instruments. At the same time, you don’t want to unbalance the mix by only panning to one side or the other. The answer lies in “Haasing it up” and panning your mono signal both ways. Find extra details at audio plugins.
You can get the perfect sound from a single source, but when you layer things up, your sound gets bigger and better. You can do this to almost any sound. Layering is an essential technique of sound design. However, pay attention to details as your sounds must match. Do your layers mask each other? Do the sounds complement each other? What happens when you separate them? Believe me, it sounds easy. But it is time consuming and takes a lot of patience. However, it is worth the experimentation. It makes a huge difference at the end. Remember, our ears can be easily tricked into not knowing when one sound ends and another begins . It is a psycho-acoustic phenomenon that layering can take advantage of. If done right, you will read it as one big textured sound.

Who is Lucas Coast and some of his music
Get to know Lucas Coast and some of his music albums? Lucas Coast is a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer born in Barranquilla, Colombia. His compositions incorporate urban, tropical, and contemporary sounds of Latin music. The singles “Conmigo”, “La Chica”, “Dame Tu Love”, & “Una Noche Mas” are now available for streaming on all platforms.
Luis Carlos Suarez Perez was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, surrounded by the great variety of musical influences of the 90s and early 00s. This exposure, increased his appreciation for music at an early age, and kept growing as he would explore new and more classic genres of music. In search of better opportunities, he moved with his family to Miami as a teenager. When he bought his first guitar, he began to improve significantly in his technique with online classes.
While attending college, playing instruments, writing songs, singing live for his friends was Lucas Coast biggest hobby. He formed a band with his musician friends at school, and they performed at various university events. Upon graduation, he had written over 100 drafts of song lyrics. Music production became his next step, while learning basic piano extended his musical growth. With an undergraduate degree in political science and a master’s degree in finance, he’s worked in his industry, while turning his passion for music into Lucas Coast. He took the name “Lucas” by combining his name “Luis Carlos Suarez”, and chose “Coast” as tribute to his musical identity forged by the Colombian and Miami coasts.
One of the main characteristics of Lucas Coast is that he prints his stamp on each of the songs he composes and performs, and on “Conmigo” his most recent single is no exception. In this new release he presents an urban proposal with electronic sounds. At the time of making this song, they were listening to various options for a new song, and when they combined urban percussions with influences from electronic music, they found the basis of rhythm. This is one of the productions in which Lucas has had creative freedom.
He created his independent label, “The Coast Records L.L.C.”, through which he has funded and managed his music project. Lucas has four singles available now on all digital platforms, with official videos available on YouTube: “Conmigo”, “La Chica”, “Dame Tu Love”, and “Una Noche Mas”. You can listen them here Lucas Coast Music.
One of the anecdotes creating and making the video for «Conmigo» was during the general production of this song, it took them about two weeks, but as time went by, they added new ideas and polished it appropriately. In the video recording, they had to fight against the weather, against the Medellín peak and plate, and other factors that got out of hand. Anyway, each member of the team injected him with the best energy, and they managed to bring out this great production in a quite different environment than what urban music has accustomed us. The setting of the video, and the electronic elements of the song come together in a masterful way.

Daughter of Michael Jackson radio podcast: meet Mocienne Petit Jackson
Daughter of Michael Jackson interview: get to know Mocienne Petit Jackson? Mocienne Petit Jackson’s (Michael Jackson’s daughter) books are now out in Portuguese! Slowly but surely Mocienne reaches the conclusion that the mafia played and still play a large and destructive role in his (and her) life. It should also be noted that his family, especially his mother and father, is to blame for many things. To date Mocienne has received no cooperation from the Jackson family in order to have a DNA test done so as to conclusively prove that she truly is Michael’s daughter.
At present, Ms Jackson is seeking to make a name for herself as her own individual. Thriller, for example, offers unique insights on her life by including stories concerning unusual and difficult situations that she experienced while living in the Netherlands. She argues extensively, for instance, that the harshness of the Dutch political system has had a significant impact on her character, and that by writing about it she can express a sense of frankness. Ms Jackson also claims that her father had a tendency to exhibit unusual behaviour which she believes may have arisen from the knowledge that he had kept his daughter in secret since the age of seventeen years. Michael Jackson allegedly did not discuss the topic openly because it was difficult and frightening for him to come to terms with.
Ms Jackson believes that such misinformation has poorly informed the public both about her relationship to Michael Jackson, and about her motives for having taken the matter to court. Her autobiographical series, Thriller, documents her life and gives her assessment on the state of affairs. Additionally, due to the fact that her aunt Diana Ross has declined to provide the press with comment regarding Michael Jackson since his death, Ms Jackson believes that crucial insights about the story are being concealed from the public. As a result of this, Ms Jackson was prompted to write the second instalment of her three-part autobiographical series, Thriller: The Dark side of the Netherlands, which focuses on her life in the Netherlands as well as the context surrounding the court case.
Forever, Michael (1975): In the wake of Music & Me, a maturing Michael began to find his voice here. And while this set is filled with stunning vocals, making it a technically sound record, overall it’s pretty forgettable. It’s a solid if unspectacular effort that served as an appetizer for the musical feast that was soon to come. Forgotten Favorites: “We’re Almost There,” “One Day In Your Life,” “Dear Michael”.
Legal circumstances aside, Ms Jackson also expresses a strong personal sentiment toward Michael Jackson. She claims that, although the relationship she had had with her father did not manage to fully develop, he had indeed loved her and he was glad to have her as his child. The Court did not rule it as being impossible, therefore, that Michael Jackson is the father of Mocienne Petit Jackson—merely that it is impossible to determine through legal means. Ms Jackson filed documents to the probate court in July 2010 in order to validate the fact that the late pop star Michael Jackson is indeed her father and thus to claim an inheritance. You maybe heard about the case of Mocienne Petit Jackson, called by the press the Michael Jackson’s secret daughter. What you most likely didn’t know is the fact that Mocienne Petit Jackson is a productive writer, with plenty of book available on Amazon and most of the other major book retailers. Against the implication that has been drawn by members of the international media, the L.A. County Superior Court did not reject the claim of Mocienne Petit Jackson in 2010 on the basis of the case’s integrity. Instead, the request to validate Ms Jackson’s claim using DNA evidence from the deceased Michael Jackson was not granted due to the fact that the State of California does not possess the jurisdiction to conduct DNA tests on the deceased. As a result, the case has remained open indefinitely.
For the most part, the collaborations actually hurt the songs. No, “Monster” isn’t the next “Thriller”, as 50 Cent claimed it to be, but it’s a decent song. Jackson sounds awkwardly retro, the beat shuffles ‘n’ sweeps, and it feels right…until you’re thrown next to 50’s uninspired rap that sounds more fitting for a summer blockbuster theme. The same goes for the highly irritating and incredibly repetitive “Hold My Hand”, where Akon belts out the same thing again and again in an equally monotonous pitch. For a lead single, it’s tepid and incredibly campy. Then there’s “(I Can’t Make It) Another Day”, featuring guitar wizard Lenny Kravitz, who churns out a chalky riff that tires 45 seconds into the song. Jackson himself sounds angry, forceful, and dominating, but altogether it doesn’t beg for a re-listen. That’s sort of a must when it comes to his music.
The lone #1 single from the 32-million selling Dangerous, “Black or White” spent seven weeks atop the Billboard charts. Directed by John Landis (“Thriller,” National Lampoon’s Animal House) the first quarter of its video reveals Jackson’s mischievous child-like streak, with Culkin towing out Spinal Tap-sized speakers, amplifying the volume to “ARE YOU NUTS!?!,” and shredding so hard that George Wendt gets ejected into the stratosphere screaming “Da Bears.” But this was Michael Jackson, not O’ Shea. Being King of Pop meant the need for mass appeal. The “Black or White” video exists as a microcosm of Dangerous itself. It potently affirms Jackson’s manhood, offers passionate screeds against racial strife, gang violence, and a parasitic American media. This is the album as multi-media spectacle, a precursor to Lemonade, with accusations of infidelity substituted for videos of Macaulay Culkin doing air guitar windmills to a Slash guitar solo and lip sync rapping about turf wars. The ascent of an artist : Themacj
Meet Themacj and some of his work: As a young child, Themacj would often be very active and cause a lot of trouble growing up. He would often beatbox around the household and rap the lyrics of famous rappers such as, “Eminem”, “50 Cent”, “Ludacris”, “Snoop Dog” & “Lil Wayne”. Themacj started to play a game called “Guitar Hero’’ which vastly improved his music abilities, he later then developed those skills into playing the drums. Going into his last year of high school, Themacj began to produce his own beats as he was starting to hoan his rapping skills, which turned into him mixing and mastering his own songs years later.
Toronto has become an epicenter of hip-hop ever since the 2010s began, and as the new decade begins a whole new number of artists are rising from the city to take center stage. Themacj is a twenty-four-year-old emcee who brings everything to the table that you would want to see from a technical aspect, and leaves nothing behind when it comes to the heart and soul of his records. Discover extra details on Themacj supernovas.
Along his journey, Themacj has met up with diamond selling record producer “Boi1da” and took some learning tips to add on to his production. Themacj has just recently opened up for famous rappers “Dizzy Wright” & ”Madchild”. With his wide range of crazy flows, sharp lyrics, deeply layered metaphors, amazing production & clean audio engineering abilities, Themacj is destined to make his way onto the top.

The entirety of the artist’s oeuvre is self-produced and self-engineered, and his creative rapport with King Los marks his foray into collaborations with fellow rappers who can bring his music, skills, and talent to the next level. Themacj, who has opened up live for successful artists like Madchild and Dizzy Wright, has also made discussions for a possible collaboration with famous diamond-selling producer boi1da, and is in talks for more creative work with other key figures in the scene.

Hash Blink or the ascent of a hip hop star
Meet Hash Blink and some of his songs? Like many at 13-years-old, music has a way of speaking for you at a time when the world around you is changing, fast. That was the case for Thomas B. Sheriff. At that time he was immersed in the The Black Album and The Marshall Mathers LP 2, but it wasn’t until a couple of years later when 50 Cent’s hit single, “P.I.M.P” entered his world that he started to realize that other’s music didn’t have to speak for him anymore because he’d realized his own voice. It was then that a young Thomas started to see himself as Hash Blink.
Hash Blink or Thomas B. Sheriff is the new rising star in the Hip Hop music scene, who got hit by the music bug at the young age of 13. Born and raised in Liberia, Western Africa, he didn’t realize his talent for singing-songwriting until the age of 15. Inspired by 50 Cent’s hit single “P.I.M.P.”, he inclined towards Hip Hop music and started writing songs, and jamming with friends in school. That was the moment when young Thomas started to see himself as Hash Blink.
In his singles “Nothing like you” and “Not perfect”, Hash Blink showcases his powerful vocal delivery and impressive songwriting skills, making the fans wonder what else the artist has to offer in his upcoming projects. Talking about his music style, Hash Blink states, “I want to turn sadness into happiness in a fun way. There is lots of stuff going on these days and we the youth are the next generation and leaders and if we don’t start letting go of negative thoughts our goals won’t be accomplished, when we are in jail, being killed for acting tuff, etc”.
His plans for 2020 are to release more songs. Born as Thomas B. Sheriff in Liberia, Hash Blink now stays in Chicago. He appreciates the fact that the Western World has always dominated hip hop, but he is not letting this stand on his way. He plans to use his voice to break down any cultural barriers through hip hop music to thrive and become even a bigger star in the industry where he has always considered himself as an underdog. It’s really a shame, but it kind of seems that SoundCloud’s prime is really over and will never return again in all its beauty. The last nail in the coffin for a lot of people came just a few days ago, when SoundCloud sneakily added into their FAQ a few paragraphs informing its users that after September 9th, they won’t be allowed to upload new stuff if they have more than 15 tracks (or 3 hours of audio, whatever comes first). This started an avalanche of negative reactions throughout the social media and even though just a few days later SoundCloud publicly announced scrapping this new strategy, it made a lot of people realize that they should be no more depending just on SoundCloud, but rather look for some alternatives in case things suddenly take an ugly turn again.

NoiseTrade is a Nashville, TN-based service that offers a way for independent musicians to upload their songs and share their albums with fans for free, much like SoundCloud. The platform also offers a similar feature for authors, but I didn’t quite give it any more than a cursory glance, so will refrain from making any statements about it at this stage. While the platform aimed at authors is a relatively new rollout, the service for musicians has been in existence for almost a decade, having been launched back in 2008 by American singer-songwriter Derek Webb and a few other musicians. According to NoiseTrade’s official website, the platform was “designed to help artists build their audiences by distributing free music in exchange for fan data (email & postal code)”. NoiseTrade allows artists to upload their music that can then be downloaded by fans for free. In return for their free music, fans need to signup with an email ID and a Zip/Postal code and subscribe to an optional newsletter. Fans are also encouraged to share an artist’s work on social media and can pay the artists any amount of their choosing. NoiseTrade keeps a 20% commission, so artists get to keep as much as 80% of the money they receive from their fans.

The climb of a Christian hip-hop artist : AR Base
The ascent of a Christian hip-hop musician : AR Base and his newest song Double Blessing: By the age of twelve, AR gave his life to Christ, and within just a few years he was forced to overcome his shyness when he risked being kicked out of school to become a high school pastor at the age of fifteen. Within the next year, he started an outreach, where he would boldly proclaim the gospel from places like public buses, and by the age of seventeen he was already working full-time in an evangelical ministry. It was from these humble beginnings that AR learned the value of determination, and pressing on in the face of adversity. It was from this path, that AR Base’s music ministry really began.
AR Base’s newest single “Double Blessing,” is out for release as a follow up to his 2019 track “Not Forgotten.” Based on the story of Job, “Double Blessing” is an upbeat hip-hop anthem to the promise that there will be a double portion for each of our troubles. AR explains how he wrote the song, “from a leading in my spirit to study the book of Job, to get an understanding of why bad things happen to good people, and the song “Double Blessing” was an answer for that. God blessed Job with a hedge of protection. God blessed the work of his hands; gave him increase and prosperity. After all his troubles, Job prayed for the people that did him wrong, and God doubled Job’s blessings.” Buy the song on Christian Hip-Hop/R&B – Double Blessing by AR Base on CDBaby and read more details on AR Base Official Website.
“Not Forgotten,” is already receiving rave reviews and has been praised as “beautifully compelling,” “refreshing” and “one of his most enthralling to date.” Showcasing the talents of “The Godfather of Gospel Bass” and Grammy® Award winning producer Andrew Gouché, the new track features Gouche’s distinctive sound that has created him to be a legend throughout the music industry. Along with Grammy Award winning drummer Calvin Rodgers, and on lead guitar Jabari Johnson who hails from Bishop T.D. Jake’s The Potter’s House, AR Base wrote the song to say that even if people and life may have forgotten you, God will always come through.
His latest album, Press On, showcases the heart of AR Base’s ministry. “I write my songs for everyone. The downtrodden, people who have fallen or given up. I want them to succeed in every area of their lives, so they can lay aside the weights that are holding them back and run the race before them,” he explains. It was with this purpose that AR was delighted to collaborate with a multitude of talented artists for the project. Including producers Jason Shepherd and Shawn Hibbler, who have worked with singers such as Smokey Norful, Shirley Caesar, and Darius Rucker, as well as Floyd “Flip Matrix” Wilcox, who brought his veteran experience from the famed hip-hop community to add a touch of urban flare. Together, Press On was birthed featuring a diverse range of songs inspired by the answers God sent in response to pressures and trials AR was facing at the time. Armed with these answers, AR Base has found that his own path has lead to purpose and vision behind his ministry. How to change atrings? Attach new string to the tail piece: First place the ball end of the string in the hole on the tailpiece that corresponds with that string. Some Violin E strings have loop ends to be placed on a fine tuner. If you have a fine tuner that needs a loop end but have an E string that has a ball end it is possible to gently remove the ball leaving the loop so that you can place it on the fine tuner. All tail pieces are different but have the same string holes so it is easy to change strings.
Album review : Michael Jackson and family books
Songs review : Michael Jackson kids today and his top songs: Dangerous has its flaws. The ballads on the back (non-Riley) half of the album could pass for gospel renditions of Celine Dion schmaltz. Despite its noble message and Jackson’s statement that it was the song he was most proud of writing, “Heal the World” is essentially “We Are The World Pt. 2.” The theme from Free Willy, “Will You Be There” offers a sweet sentiment, but it’s not exactly “I Believe I Can Fly.” “Gone Too Soon” falls into that same category of beautifully intentioned crooning that ultimately sounds like a dentist office doxology, especially when contrasted with the brilliant funk of the first side. Some interpreted it as a desire to catch up, but it’s more emblematic of his lust to conquer. If Off the Wall was Jackson mastering late ’70s soul and disco, Thriller was his perfection of ’80s pop. This is Jackson showing that he could blend hip-hop and R&B better than anyone had previously imagined. The new decade starts here, with artists like Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, TLC, R. Kelly, et al. taking cues from Jackson and Riley’s alchemy. To say nothing of Kanye, Drake, and countless others still atop the charts.
Can we agree as a family that Michael Jackson is the single greatest performer in music history? If not, I’ll be happy to convince you. Forget the scandals, the family drama, the kid from Home Alone and the monkey. Musically speaking, Michael Jackson’s legacy is unmatched. A bit of his Jheri curl juice resides in the DNA of every performer under the age of 35. And with that fantastic legacy comes fantastic music. Let’s look back at the King of Pop’s entire royal catalog, ranking it from top to bottom.
Michael Jackson family: Mocienne Petit Jackson’s (Michael Jackson’s daughter) books are now available in french!
